As a Guest Experience Head of Events & Costuming you will serve as the primary Guest Experience liaison between Events and Sales and is responsible for leading the delivery of existing and proposed guest facing events, including, but not limited to: birthday parties, school programs, team buildings, corporate events, and other associated offerings across all Farah properties. Additionally, The Guest Experience Head of Events & Costuming oversees the Guest Experience-entertainment costume function while providing guidance and mentorship to the costuming team The Guest Experience Head of Events & Costuming also serves as an active participant in achieving artistic goals, ensuring consistent costumingquality, leading and supporting execution of events, and sharing knowledge with the team. 

Your job scope will also include:

  • Ensures successful delivery of existing and proposed guest facing events including, but not limited to: birthday parties, school programs, team buildings, corporate events, and other events promoted by Farah.
  • Works hand in hand with Sales to ensure event bookings adhere to defined operational standards: timings, capacities, and pricing guidelines and revenue allocations.
  • Works alongside Marketing to ensure event marketing strategies stay aligned with operational standards and capabilities.
  • Manages Guest Experience staff scheduling on day to day basis.
  • Provides event management and operational coverage at events as requested.
  • Responsible for the creation and distribution of SEO’s and event reports, when applicable.
  • Manages and maintains Guest Experience events owned assets in each required facility ensuring tidiness of areas, such as: warehouse, storage spaces, and other back of house Guest Experience events earmarked spaces.
  • Oversees costume design, production and operations for shows, character experiences and all other entertainment related offerings, including corporate functions and seasonal events
  • Develops systems and procedures to support the entertainment operations from a costuming standpoint
  • Works with other properties and departments within the business to find synergies and efficiencies in the costuming section of the department.
  • Oversees costume related budgets to include operational expenses and capital developments.
  • Ensures Guest Experience event storage areas are maintained, kept clean and organized, and assets are properly labeled and accounted for in inventory levels.
  • Financial responsibilities including project budget creation, overtime management, procurement and purchasing, tracking and reporting observed company policies and delegation of authority
  • Organizes and runs event related meetings, debriefs, and other related meetings required to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assembles event production books and documentation for working use as well as historical archives.
  • Creates load-in/load-out and event run schedules as requested, and maintains said schedules, updating them and stakeholders when changes take place.
  • Leads production and events rehearsals as needed.
  • Oversees load-ins/load-outs of events as required.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to events colleagues to assist in developing bench strength and succession plans.
  • Acts as events manager on duty.
  • Compile periodic rate competitiveness and comparisons.
  • Offer input into event improvements: effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Additional duties as requested by senior management.
  • Qualifications

    As an ideal candidate, you will need to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience in event management, including large scale productions.
  • Working knowledge of industry safety and codes, industry trends and vendors.
  • Ability to read blueprints, and event/design related documents.
  • Costume production and operations management
  • Ability to lead procurement and contracting for costumes
  • Knowledge of hair/wig care, theatrical makeup and prosthetics
  • Experience with development and operations of IP related costumes
  • Leadership skills.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to create production schedules, run of shows, event reports, and event decks.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Event Management
  • 5+ years of experience in theme park event industry.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of working in UAE.
  • Proficiency in project management.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
